Avène Very High Protection Spray SPF 50+ Review

Guest Post
Sunscreen is the most important step in any skincare routine. Sun rays damage our skin badly resulting in wrinkles, dark spots, tanning, pigmentation, and cancer too. It is crucial to protect the skin from harsh sun rays. Majorly, people just cover our face and forget about the body area which is the biggest mistake. Always protect skin, cover head with hat, eyes with sun protective glasses and wear fully covering clothes.

I was looking for a water resistant sunscreen few months back and while searching I got to know about Avène. Unfortunately, there is a lack of varieties of broad spectrum sunscreens with UVA and UVB formula with zero white caste in India. Avène is a very famous 270 years old French brand. Thermal spring water is their very first and cult favourite product. Let’s dive into the review of Avène Very High Protection Spray.

Brand Claims
The Spray SPF 50+ is based on the exclusive Sunsitive protection combination from Pierre Fabre Research: 1. Patented filter system containing only 4 sun filters for very broad-spectrum, long-lasting stable and effective UVB-UVA protection with optimal skin tolerance. 2. Unique antioxidant complex (Pre-tocopheryl + Thialidine), for complete cellular protection against oxidative stress. 3. Avène Thermal Spring Water, recognized for its soothing, anti-irritating and softening properties. Thanks to its new hydra-protective texture, the Spray SPF 50+ offers: - An immediate and long-lasting sensation of comfort. - Anti-dryness effect. - 6-hour hydration.

Packaging, Consistency and Fragrance
The packaging of Avène Very High Protection Spray is quite unique. It comes in a sturdy plastic bottle with spray dispenser. A transparent cap is provided for protection. The bottle has signature colour that represents the brand. The bottle is slightly opaque, so it is easy to see though how much product is left.
Avène Very High Protection Spray has runny lotion like consistency milky white kind of which is very easy to spread. I find it moisturizing too. If you have dry skin, you will love it as it doubles up as a moisturizer + sunscreen in one.
Avène Very High Protection Spray has very mild and subtle cream like fragrance which fades away after few minutes. The fragrance that most French products have somewhat like that – it is not bothersome.

My Experience
I use Avène Very High Protection Spray daily and really like it. I need just 2-3 sprays to cover my arm. The sunscreen gets absorbed into skin quickly leaving moisturized finish. I have been using it from quite a long time and I am still left with the 1/3rd bottle. My skin turns red with longer exposure in sun but thankfully Avène Very High Protection Spray is saving it.

Usage
Spray the sunscreen directly on body skin or palms and gently spread and massage. Bottle is in spray form but you have to apply it by hands just like applying any body lotion. Make sure that you don’t spray it from a long distance as the tiny drops of sunscreen might fall on walls, floor and surrounding things. Don’t forget to reapply it every 3-4 hours. It is a body sunscreen, please don’t use on face.

Recommendation
It seems pricey but believe me this huge bottle will last for months easily. It is actually a great product to have in your stash, you can share with family too as the bottle is bulky. If you are on a beach vacation or a sport person, Avène Very High Protection Spray will be the appropriate choice as it is water resistant. I will highly recommend this to everyone.
