Dot & Key Underarm Detox & Color Correction Mask Review

After posting the review of Dot & Key Underarm Color Correction Serum, am back with another review from the same brand. Few years back I never knew about detoxifying an underarm. When I knew about it, I did try some DIYs with the ingredients available at my end. However applying a mask on underarm isn't easy as it sounds. After applying a face mask, one can roam around or do whatever we can. Alas that's not the case with an underarm mask. We either need to lay down or keep our arms up as the mask dries up, phew. Let's see whether Dot & Key Underarm Detox & Color Correction Mask lives up to its claims or not.

Brand Claims and Ingredients

My experience
Speaking of the packaging, it's too cute. Look at the cute, fatso, pink pot in which the product is housed. Also the product is accompanied by an applicator which helps in applying the mask to the underarm area.

As seen in pictures the underarm mask is grey in colour. It has a strong peppermint fragrance. The mask is quite soft in texture and consistency is medium. I like the consistency since it's most appropriate for applying to the underarm area, neither runny nor thick. Applying the mask isn't a task, drying up is!!

After using the mask for a 2 weeks (twice weekly), I noticed some skin lightening and sweat odour reduction. The underarm didn't feel any tingling sensation or itching as the mask dried up. The mask, once washed off, leaves a mint fragrance of peppermint behind. Washing off the mask is also easy and all I can say is this is a good to go mask if you looking for a ready to use underarm mask for detox. Overall speaking the mask is useful for people who don't find time to DIY and are looking for ready to use mask. I might repurchase this one, once I empty the product. Also a thin layer of the mask is sufficient for detoxifying the underarm, so product lasts longer.

Recommendation
Dot & Key Underarm Detox & Color Correction Mask is a ready to use mask for under arm detox and lightening. I don't expect the mask to lighten the skin much, but yes keeping in mind the detox thing it definitely helps due to the charcoal content in it. Moreover the peppermint and tea tree essential oils in it reduce body odour over a period of time. I like the fact that it is useful to people who aren't into DIY or don't have much time to follow DIY. I am looking forward to buying this again once I empty the product. The fact that it contains Parfum inspite of having essential oils is beyond my understanding. It is recommended to those who are looking for underarm detox.

Dot & Key Underarm Colour Correction Serum Review

Underarm pigmentation is a real thing. I experienced it during my pregnancy. The pigmentation surfaced in first trimester and it darkened as the pregnancy progressed. I couldn't do much about it even after so many years due to hectic schedule. While I did pay attention to my facial skin and body care, underarm was one of the most neglected part. Once in a while I did try DIY under arm detox mask. But I never thought of using a cream or something to tackle the pigmentation. Let's see if Dot & Key Underarm Colour Correction Serum helped me or not?

Brand Claims and Ingredients

My experience
The product is housed in a cute pink packaging. The outer cardboard box is a keeper for me. The underarm serum packaging is quite compact. However the cap comes off quickly so keep in mind while packing with other products in your handbag or skincare bag.

Coming to the consistency and texture of the product, it has a serum consistency and has soft, gooey texture. The serum gets absorbed easily in the underarm area. However it has a strong artificial fragrance, which really bothers me. Especially if you use it during the day and once you start sweating, the fragrance of serum along with the sweat gives a bad odour sort of fragrance.

Coming to the efficiency of the serum, it has lightened my underarm pigmentation to a lot of extent. And I have been using it day and night since 3 weeks. I sometimes even skip using it during the day to avoid the fragrance of serum mixing with sweat odour. Still the serum has shown significant amount of lightening in the underarm pigmentation. The serum gets absorbed immediately and doesn't leave any sticky or oily residue. It has also reduced the thickening of the arm folds, very little though. Overall am satisfied with the Serum in case of lightening the underarm pigmentation.

The In
  • Reduces pigmentation in dark underarms and restores the natural even tone of skin
  • Made with skin lightening botanical extracts of bearberry leaf and peony root
  • Corrects uneven skin tone
  • Brightens the underarm area
  • Gives smooth, soft and evenly toned underarms with regular usage (weeks and maybe months)
  • No parabens, sulphates, alcohol
  • Cruelty Free, Dermatologist Tested

The Out
  • The fragrance feels very artificial
  • Contains Parfum as one of the ingredients

Price, Shelf life and Availability - 895 INR for 50ml, with a shelf life of 3 years. Available on Amazon at discount. Also you can avail 20% off on your purchase by using coupon code SONALI20 .

Recommendation
Dot & Key Underarm Colour Correction Serum is a good option to tackle underarm pigmentation, especially if you are a busy person and don't have time to use DIY or natural remedies. The serum showed significant reduction in pigmentation within 2 weeks for me. Plus am not a person who sweats too much. The ease of use, non greasy, non oily feeling makes it a winner in terms of usage. However the artificial fragrance of Dot & Key Underarm Colour Correction Serum is something which I don't like. If you are looking to reduce underarm pigmentation the easy way pick it up. Also ease of use comes with a price.

Suganda Neem Green Tea Mask Review

I love using powder cleanser and face packs since ages (lol, not ages, since many years). The versatility of dry powder face packs and cleansers is unmatchable by the ready made one. Being said that, you need to shrug off your laziness to mix in the water to a powder cleanser or face packs and use them 😛. Today am talking about Suganda Neem Green Tea Mask. Did I like using this product as a cleanser or just a face packs? Read to know 😛.

Brand Claims and Ingredients -

My experience
The product is housed in a square, plastic bottle which has a screw cap. This sort of packaging is easy to use. The product doesn't spill or leak from the container.

Suganda Neem Green Tea Mask has a typical green tea fragrance. I myself make powder cleansers, and have been making green tea mint cleanser since 2 years so I can immediately tell it's green tea fragrance. The product has rice powder as a major ingredient and hence the texture is of that kind. The other two ingredients green tea and neem, are very fine powders.

I used this Suganda Neem Green Tea Mask as a mask only once. Applying this mask was a bit messy as I couldn't apply a uniform layer on my face. As is I love using powder cleansers so I use it instead of a face wash at night and am very happy with the effects it gives to my skin.

Firstly the mask has tiny granules in it which makes it easier to use as a scrub and I mildly scrub the white heads on my skin with this. Regularly using this for 1 weeks has helped me get rid of my white heads along with my regular routine. The mask nicely scrubs off dead skin cells also and you don't need to use a separate scrub. After washing off, the skin feels brightened, smooth and soft. I like the instant brightening effects rice powder gives to the skin. Skin feels squeaky clean and gives a soft glow to the skin regular usage. The tiny zits I had on my skin calm down and start healing immediately after 2-3 days and their size is considerably reduced with regular usage of the mask as a cleanser.

Price, Shelf life and Availability - 750 INR for 60 gms of the product with a shelf life of 2 years. Available on Suganda website

Recommendation
Suganda Neem Green Tea Mask is a good product to use as a cleanser cum mask cum scrub. I love this quality of the product of doubling up a job in skincare. Suganda Neem Green Tea Mask worked better for me as a cleanser than a mask. Moreover with regular usage it has helped me to get rid of my white heads along with my skincare routine. I would highly recommend Suganda Neem Green Tea Mask to oily, acne prone skin types to use this product as a mask cum cleanser cum scrub. It also gives instant brightening effects and heals acne. Also keep in mind, not to rub harshly while using any powder cleanser.

Suganda White Lotus Moisturizer Review, Price

Today am reviewing the most raved moisturizer you all are coming across all over Instagram, Suganda White Lotus Moisturizer. Oily acne prone skinned beauties have a hard time finding a suitable moisturizer. Every other moisturizer feels heavy on the skin or leaves oily shine. So using a light weight moisturizer is a must for oily skin. Moreover an oil free moisturizer is like a cherry on the cake. Does Suganda White Lotus Moisturizer fit the bill and suffice it's claims. Did it work for me, would I be repurchasing it? Read on to know.

Brand Claims and Ingredients

The product is packaged in an amber coloured glass bottle with a pump dispenser. The glass packaging is pretty light in weight but due care is to be taken. Also I would not term this as non travel friendly as we all tend to have bubble packaging or special travel bags to carry such stuff. The dispenser works nicely and cap fits in perfectly tight.

Suganda White Lotus Moisturizer has a light weight texture, the consistency is medium runny. I like the consistency of the moisturizer, light yet hydrating and moisturizing. It wouldn't be an exaggeration if I say I have never come across such a consistency of moisturizer. It sinks right into the skin without any greasy or watery feeling. The fragrance is a little herbal sort and nonetheless I love sniffing it

The product has Niacinamide as one of the major ingredients. Niacinamide speeds up the skin cell turnover and in my case it caused a lot of purging when I started using the product. The reason, existing clogged pores which were brought to surface due to Niacinamide. When I started using the product I hardly had time to take good care of my skin. Just washing my face and a moisturizer was my routine. Also initially I used the product like a greedy person using three pumps.

After a lot of purging, I inculcated the moisturizer in my CTM routine and also reduced the amount of moisturizer I used. The results were very less to almost no purging. Although purging left me with marks all over the face which made me unhappy and I still continued using the moisturizer in my CTM routine. Again when I couldn't moisturize my skin or forgot to use the moisturizer for straight 4-5 days, the purging was still there. So consistency is the key for acne prone skin  which continuously brings the clogged pore to the surface and gets rid of acne.

Honestly speaking, I was not happy with Suganda White Lotus Moisturizer for the purging effects it had on my skin. Although I did experience smooth and soft skin with regular usage of the moisturizer. The product has also reduced the pigmentation I have near my lips and on the edges of my nostrils.

I wouldn't say this moisturizer will suit acne prone skin (which is prone to clogged pores). It would suit normal skin and combination skin (not clogged one). If your skin doesn't get clogged easily on the skin Suganda White Lotus Moisturizer would be the best pick since the ingredients are good for speeding up the skin's healing and pigmentation.

Price, Shelf life and Availability - 750 INR for 50 gms with a shelf life of one and half year. Available on Suganda Website.

Recommendation
Patience is the key when it comes to some skincare products, especially when some unusual ingredients are involved. Similar was the case of Suganda White Lotus Moisturizer for me. I have used the moisturizer for about 8 weeks now and it purges me initially. I would rather use this moisturizer as a part of my CTM routine rather than using as a standalone day moisturizer. The moisturizer is best suited for non acne prone skin types (except dry skin of course, it can be used as a serum by dry skin). Although am still scared of the purging and would not repurchase this one. Although that's my personal opinion and some may be comfortable with the purging. As of now am using it on and off and am half way through the product.

Skincare Empties #14

Hi All,

Starting another month of the year 2019 with an empties post. I have been hoarding skincare products like anything since last year only to realize how little product we need for each use. So basically there is no point in hoarding two tubs of moisturizer which are 50 gms. It surely goes a long way when it comes to face moisturizers or face packs or face oils. So in order to save the products from expiry I have used some products in an alternative way. Let's get into the post.

Moolit Cleansing Cream
This is an early version of the cream and it is all set to get revamped. Keeping products in fridge has it's own disadvantages, we often forget to use the product. I didn't want that to happen to this beauty. Also emptying this product means am all set to buy the new version. Utkarshini you reading 😂.

Stay Wild Child Chamomile Night Cream
I really love this night gel, I had purchased it last year around March and liked it so much that I ended up buying another tub. I forgot to use this one and so to keep dryness at bay I used it as a body moisturizer. I don't like the fragrance of this night gel. A nice pick if you have oily acne prone skin.

The Nature's Co Saffron Radiance Cream
I like the texture of this cream. I had received it as a freebie when I purchased Biobloom face oil from Shwetali. The cream will be suitable for normal to dry skin types. I used very little quantity each time and this small tub lasted me around one month. Sometimes I used extra amount on my neck so as to empty.

Gulnare Zesty Lemon Face Exfoliator
I like the squeaky and smooth feeling this scrub leaves on the face. Although the ingredients are simple and it can be a DIY. I had received it in one of my VanityCask boxes

Sand Soapaholics Face Puree
It was gifted to me by Archana of IBeautySpy. I thoroughly enjoyed using the face cleanser. Since the expiry of the product was in April I had to finish it soon. I might repurchase this one.

Juicy Chemistry Under Eye Cream
My favorite eye cream has expired in this month and am going to let it go since it's dangerous to use expired products for eye. I might buy this one in near future. I wish the brand has an option of 5 gms since we don't end up using a lot of product for under eye for each usage.

So that was a teeny tiny empties list and am going to review some more products soon.
