Ethicare Remedies Fclin Shampoo Review

I have very dry hair and no matter what I do they don't look and feel managebale. Last time I reviewed the Trichoz intensive hair serum from Ethicare Remedies and now we will check the review of Fclin shampoo.

Brand claims and Ingredients

My experience
The packaging is usual tube packaging with a flip cap which is quite okay as to prevent spillage. The shampoo is transparent in colour and has a mild coconut fragrance. I have used the shampoo for around 4-5 times till now and am ready to post the review.

I sometimes forget to oil my hair before washing them. But I never ever apply shampoo directly on my hair or scalp, I dilute it in water and then apply. First time when I used this shampoo I used more in quantity than normal due to the transparent nature of the shampoo. After first use hair were clean, not excessively dry and smelled nice all day long. The fragrance is not very strong and non lingering as well as non bothering. I prefer such types of fragrances. The fragrance was totally nil the next day.

Post 3 washes my hair is manageable as well as my dandruff has reduced to a little extent. The shampoo doesn't claim to reduce dandruff, but it is aimed at follicles' unclogging. Since I rarely use serums, lotions on my hair I don't think my hair follicle is actually clogged. But it may be clogged due to hard water and other shampoos which I keep on trying ;)

The shampoo is SLES free formula and I think some other coconut derivative is used as a foaming agent or else the Sodium Lauryl Sarcosinate listed in ingredients. The shampoo doesn't dry out my hair and for non oily hair one usage and for oily hair two usages are enough to clean the hair, considering the fact that I have thick, medium length hair. Overall I liked the shampoo due to its SLES free, Paraben free formula and mild fragance. It is not harsh and hair don't become excessively dry even if you don't oil your hair.

The In
  • Paraben free, SLES free, Phthalates free
  • Nice coconut fragrance
  • Non lingering, non bothering fragrance
  • Doesn't dry out the hair
  • Little quantity is required for every use
  • Makes hair manageable with regular usage

The Out
  • Didn't find hair regrowth claims true
  • The split ends claim also doesn't seem true

Price, shelf life and availability - 160 INR for 100 ml with a shelf life of 2 years. Available on Ethicare Remedies website

Recommendation
I would recommend this shampoo for making hair more manageable and for SLES, Paraben and phthalates free formula. Moreover the fragance is not lingering which is a pro for me. Highly recommended if you are in for a change as well as have clogged follicles. However I cannot tell how to know clogged hair follicles :D

5 Best Body Lotions

Body lotions are used to prevent premature ageing and drying of the skin. Our hands which perform tons of work in our lives and tend to get drier day by day due to constant contact with water. Similarly our feet are the most ignored and least taken care of. It is very important to moisturise the face but we should not forget to do the same with our body. Today I have collaborated with Shwetali from Not So Hard To be Pretty and Dipti from Gorgeously Flawed for this post. They have written posts for 5 Best Body Butters and 5 Best Body Scrubs, so check their posts as well.

I totally love how thick this body lotion is and how nice coconut fragrance it has. It does a good job of moisturization at the price it is offered. It may suit winters as in summers it tends to become sticky due to its intense moisturization.
Price - 65 INR for 100ml
Available - Easily available online as well as in stores.

VLCC Almond Nourishing Body Lotion Review
VLCC body lotion is one of their top selling items. The lotion is very nice and it's fragrance is enchanting. The goodness of cocoa adds to the flavor, fragrance and moisturising effects. The product can be easily seen in hyper malls and skincare outlets making it easily available.
Price - 255ml for 300ml
Available - Available online as well as in stores

Himalaya Herbals Cocoa Butter Intensive Body Lotion
Himalaya Herbals is only known for face wash, scrub, face pack and lotions I think. This lotion is also one of their bestsellers. It has a sheer cocoa fragrance and moisturizes sufficiently. However it doesn't moisturise dry skin in winters that well. Easily availability makes it a winner for normal, brand unconscious people.
Price - 250 INR for 400 ml
Available - Available online as well as in stores
Fuschia body lotion
Fuschia body lotion is also free from paraben, phthalates, artificial fragrance and colour free. Moreover it is handmade. Intensely moisturizing, chemical free and wide online availability makes it a winner. But chemical free products also have a heavy price tag and this one is not an exception. They have many variants as well.
Price - 450 INR for 100ml (you can get offer online)
Available- Major online shopping portals and Vkare website

Organic Harvest Moisturising Lotion
All lotions have parabens, but Organic Harvest and Fuschia body lotions are an exception. It doesn't contain parabens, phthalates and is artificial fragrance as well as colour free. It moisturizes the skin well and has tamarind extracts, which are know yo give healthy skin over a period of time. Although this lotion comes with a hefty price the quantity required is very less for each use.
Price -595 INR for 100ml
Available - Major Shopping portals as well Organic Harvest website

Apart from these Vaseline body lotions, Pond's body lotions are popular as well as cheap. However they have parabens and artificial fragrance. This was a list of best body lotions according to me. What's your favourite?!

Ethicare Remedies Epi Plus Lotion Review

I like cleansers which are mild in nature yet effective in cleansing. I have hardly used SLES/ SLS free products. However we all are so used to foaming thing that a product feels incomplete without foam especially the facewashes. Today's review is about one such cleanser. Let's see the review of Ethicare Remedies Epiplus Lotion. Unlike the name this product is cleanser for sensitive skin.

My experience
The product is packaged in a white tube with black flip cap tube. The black and white combination is super duper glossy. Overall an attractive and travel friendly packaging.

The cleanser is white in colour and little creamy in nature but not at all heavy. The cleanser has nil fragrance. Considering the claim of being fragrance free, it holds true. The lotion doesn't foam at all so the soap free claims or I think SLS/ SLES are also true. The cleanser does a good job of cleansing the skin without removing the oil. The cleanser gets washed off easily without any residue. Since it doesn't foam I tend to use a lot of quantity out of habit :D. It also effectively removes dirt, sweat from the skin, however a little oiliness will be felt by oily skinned people like me :D. However the skin feels smooth and soft post usage.

There is no question of stripping the oil as it doesn't contain any soap ingredients. The cleanser is highly suitable for sensitive and normal skinned people. Oily skinned people may find it a less cleansing because we are so used to stripping the oil from the face. The cleanser is a winner only from the sensitive skin view.

The In
  • Soap free, fragrance free
  • Cleanses the skin nicely
  • Removes dirt and sweat
  • Very suitable for sensitive skin
  • Creamy texture
  • Travel friendly packaging
  • Can be used as a body cleanser
  • Budget friendly

The Out
  • Contains parabens
  • Full ingredients list not available

Price, shelf life and availability - 180 INR for 100 ml with a shelf life of 3 years. Buy on ethicare.in

Recommendation
If you have a sensitive skin then this is a highly recommended cleanser for you. The claims of being soap free and fragrance free are true and sensitive skin will benefit from it. However for oily skinned people this can be a mild cleanser which removes dirt but not the oil. The face is cleansed thoroughly yet feels like still oil is present on face. On and on a cleanser only for sensitive skinned people.

Best Face Wash For Oily, Acne Prone Skin

Skin cleansers also known as face washes are categorised as basic skincare products. Choosing the right facewash according to your skin type goes a long way in benefiting the skin.

Today Skincare Villa brings to you a list of top 5 skin cleansers for oily skin. I have collaborated with Shwetali from Not So Hard To be Pretty has compiled 5 Best Face Scrubs For Oily Acne Prone Skin and Dipti has compiled a list of 5 Best Face Packs For Oily Acne Prone Skin. Do checkout there posts as well.

Coming back to the list, it goes off like following in ascending order of price. PS - I have personally tried all the facewashes and highly recommend them for oily, acne-prone skin :)

Clean and Clear facewash

Clean and Clear facewash is by far a very popular and easily available facewash for oily skin. It reduces oiliness without drying the skin. It also controls oil secretion to a certain extent. Easy availability, pocket friendly price and travel size packaging makes a winner among others. However the recent chemical free skincare awareness has made many people skip this. However if you are looking for a product which fits your budget as well as works then go for it.
Price - 55 INR for 50 ml
Availability Available in stores as well as online

Himalaya Herbals neem facewash

The best seller from Himalaya Herbals and most popular facewash among all, which is suitable for oily skin as a mild cleanser. Packed with the antibacterial properties of neem, it is quite affordable and easily available in stores. I think easily availability is what has made it so popular.
Priced - 55 INR for 50ml
Availability - Available in stores as well as online

Ethicare Remedies Acmed facewash

I am currently using this facewash and am very impressed with it's results. It dries up the acne without drying the skin. It has small granules for acne control. I am about to finish the tube and so far it has controlled my breakouts and haven't seen any fresh, big breakouts. Overall a winner if you are looking for effective acne-prone skin care facewash.
Price - 165 INR for 70 g
Availability - Available online

Plum Green Tea Pore Cleansing Facewash

Ahmazing green tea fragrance is all what describes the Green Tea Pore Cleansing Facewash. The facewash does it job quite well in reducing the oiliness as well as breakouts. I experienced lesser breakouts when I had used this facewash. The facewash quantity will last longer than expected. Powered with the goodness of green tea this facewash is totally recommended if you love splurging.
Price - 345 INR for 75 ml
Availability - Available online

Kama Ayurveda Rose and Jasmine face cleanser

Kama Ayurveda, I think the name is enough to describe how the product works. I won this product in a giveaway and am all hearts for it. The fragrance, packaging, facewash job, all works well. The facewash contains rose and jasmine essential oils and is very gentle yet effective. It will soothe your skin while removing excess oil. It also reduces breakouts :). The only con some may find is the price tag. Overall this facewash is no gain, no pain sort. Highly recommended if you love splurging on facewash.
Price - 375 INR for 50 ml
Availability - Kama Ayurveda stores and online.

So this was my list of amazing facewashes. Am I missing any favourites? DO suggest.

Ethicare Remedies Trichoz Intensive Hair Serum Review

Please raise your hands if you have dry, frizzy hair? I have very very dry hair. Everytime I see someone with nice, soft, silky hair I feel 'Kaash mere Baal bhi aise hote!'. You might be thinking why so drama today :D. Today's review is about Trichoz hair serum from Ethicare Remedies. Let's see how this helps for dry, frizzy hair.

My experience
The serum is packaged in a small, transparent, flip cap bottle. The nozzle of the cap is of perfect size and dispenses just the right amount of product. This not only let us avoid product wastage but also helps product spillage. The fragrance is quite pleasant and I used around more than coin sized amount as I have very dry hair.

The serum is transparent in colour and very non-oily in nature. It is truly serum in every sense. The serum is made up of Blend of silicon conditioners, Vitamin E, U.V. Filters, amino acid. The serum is neither runny nor thick in consistency and is not at all oily, greasy and sticky. The serum spreads easily along the length of hair, however it takes some time for the hair to gulp down the serum (my hair are very dry).

I used it post wash and after my hair had dried up completely. The serum does a good job in taming the frizz. However don't expect a magic makeover if you have very dry hair. My hair are thick so mostly I tie them up and after applying the serum my comb could easily go through the length of my hair. Somehow the smoothening effect wasn't up to the mark or maybe I was expecting a lot. However with regular usage it helps getting the required smoothness but not much unless you already have soft hair.

The In
  • Reduces frizz from first use
  • Extremely non-oily, non-greasy and non sticky
  • Spreads easily along the length of hair
  • Pleasant, non lingering, non bothering fragrance
  • Smoothens the hair with regular usage
  • Travel friendly, small package size
  • Flip cap for non spillage purpose
  • Dispenses right amount of product
  • Amount required is very less unless you have really dry hair
  • Contains Vitamin E and amino acid
The Out
  • Can cause silicon build up over regular usage
  • Only key Ingredients mentioned

Price, shelf life and availability - 199 INR for 50ml with a shelf life of 3 years. Buy here

Recommendation -
The serum is a good choice when oily hair can be a mess or a no-no. Sometimes we cannot attend a function or important event with oily hair, at such times serums come handy and this serum is perfect for such occasions. Overall a winner for Skincarevilla for occasional use, but I would avoid using it when am home bound :)

Ethicare Remedies Ethiglo Face Wash Review

I have earlier reviewed a couple of Ethicare Remedies on the blog when the team sent me a summer kit for review. Today's review is a part of another kit which the brand sent me. Let's see the review of Ethiglo Face Wash today.

Ingredients -
Kojic acid, Vitamin C, Liquorice, Nicotinamide, Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Triclosan, Vitamin E, D-Panthenaol, DM Water, Glycerin, PG, Stearic Acid,  Potassium Hydroxide, Gum binder, EDTA, SLS, Preservatives, Perfume.

My experience I loved the super white tube packaging with a silver wording of the name. The packaging size is small and quite travel friendly to fit a handbag.

Now coming to the product consistency and colour, the consistency is frothy like a shaving cream and colour is similar with a shiny sheen of the facewash. The facewash is exactly like a shaving cream in appearance as well as consistency (excuse me for the comparison). The consistency is neither runny nor thick. The facewash contains very tiny pink granules. The density of the granules is moderate.

Now the business part, the facewash foams quite well and the quantity required is very less. The foam is frothy (like a shaving cream) and gets washed off easily.  The facewash contains Liquorice and the effects are quite evident in just one use. The facewash makes the skin super clean without drying it. It gives a subtle glow and freshness to the skin which lasts for around 2-3 hours. The facewash does its job quite well and helps in curing the dark spots left by acne.

I would also like to mention that it takes time to show effects on darker shades of acne scars. However I am yet to see any effects on the pigmentation I have below my lower lip. However I don't expect overnight effects especially by a facewash which we put on skin for just less than one minute.

But according to the amount of time we put the facewash on the skin, it shows great effects with respect to that. I would prefer this facewash as a super cleansing agent with added benefit of  fading the scars over a period of time.

The In
  • Impressive ingredients list
  • Super white attractive packaging
  • Travel friendly and compact size
  • Makes the skin thoroughly clean without drying the skin
  • Quantity required is very less
  • Fades the scars over a period of time because of Liquorice contents
  • Gives a subtle glow and freshness with just first use
The Out
  • I didn't find any
Price, Shelf life and Availability - 250 INR for 70 g with a shelf life of 3 years.

Recommendation
I would recommend the facewash if you are into a product which does a dual job. The facewash makes the face clean as well as helps in curing acne marks. Some may prefer facepacks for lightening the acne scars. But this facewash is a good option to treat acne scars without investing much time.

Ida Naturals small haul

Do you all remember I had posted a picture on Instagram of Ida Naturals haul? Nope, I don't expect you all to remember because it has been such a long time since I bought the goodies from Ida Naturals. Ida Naturals is a Bangalore based organic and chemical free skincare brand by Priya Iyer. If you know me well or have read somewhere you might know that I prefer shopping offline and COD is my favourite mode of payment.

Didn't like background so clicked another pic

Bad lighting, blame Bangalore weather :(

I had contacted Ida Naturals way back in April, but at that time they didn't have COD option. I waited around one week and Priya informed me that COD was available. Since I was running out of my lip balm stock after emptying Fuschia lip balm I thought of ordering the lip balm.
After going through Ida Naturals Facebook page I got to know that Ida Naturals Choco Mint Lip Butter is their top selling item. So into the cart. Then the Anise Clove lip Revive caught my attention. So that too into the cart. Since this was the first time I was ordering with them that all what I wanted.

So what all I bought was (yes that tiny haul)
Ida Naturals Choco Mint Lip Butter
Ida Naturals Anise Clove lip Revive

But my wishlist included Coffee Sugar Body Scrub and a few body butters. Priya asked me whether this is all I wanted and I told her about my wishlist. She happily sent me Coffee Sugar Body Scrub as a freebie :). Imagine a goodie worth 300 INR free on an order of 330 INR :).

Order email

My order arrived the same day since I too stay in Bangalore. Due to COD option the shipping and COD charge was added to my order.

I am totally in love with the goodies I ordered and am going to order more in future. The lip butter is amazing with a cooling sensation and lip revive does an amazing job of actually reviving the lips. Full review of all the products will be posted soon :).

You can order Ida Naturals products via Facebook page or email. If you order via Facebook page (like I did) you will receive an order email.

So that was all about my tiny toiny haul from Ida Naturals. What about you, do you also make a wishlist before buying something? Share with me below in comments section.

SoapWorks India Milk & Honey Soap Review

Earlier I have reviewed an exotic variant of SoapWorks India Chocolate fudge soap. This one is a smiliar soap but a milk and honey variant. The soaps are very tempting but the thing which breaks the heart is their diminishing size with regular usage. Anyways let's head on to the review to see how the soap fares.

My experience The soap contains real goat milk and honey. The colour and fragrance is quite evident from the ingredients. The soap mildly smells of both the ingredients and is non bothering and non lingering at the same time.

The soap being milky in nature quite foams similar with a milky sort. The foam is frothy and gets washed off easily. It doesn't leave a residue like the commercial soaps which take a long time to get washed off. The soap doesn't dry out the skin and makes the skin smooth and soft. The skin is quite moisturised post usage so people with normal skin can also skip moisturising step after using this soap. The soap cleanses well, foams well, gets washed off well and is quite a good soap.

As discussed earlier the soap needs to be thoroughly dried before storage so as to prevent wastage. The soap also needs to be packaged in cardboard box to prevent any direct damage to the soap. I would totally recommend the Soapworks India soaps for their fragrance, ingredients and cleansing abilities.

The In
  • Soap foams quite well
  • Gets washed off easily without leaving a residue
  • Cleanses the skin well and makes it mildly fragrant
  • Amazing fragrance which is not bothering at all
  • Moisturizes the skin and hence people with normal skin may skip moisturizer
  • Makes the skin soft, smooth and supple
The Out
  • Outer cardboard packaging missing
Price and Shelf Life - 180 INR for 120gms

Recommendation
I would definitely recommend the SoapWorks India Milk and honey soap for it's superior quality and value for money. It efficiently cleanses the skin and moisturizes it as well. Overall it is a good soap to try if you love handmade soaps are looking for products worth money.
