Foodaholic 3D Aloe Natural Essence Mask Review

Hey gals am back with another mask review. Everytime I use these masks I feel heavenly and at the same time am taken aback by the advancements in skincare. The Foodaholic Aloe Natural Essence Mask is very promising and delivers for what it is designed. Read the review to know more.

Brand claims and Ingredients click here

My experience
The mask packaging is very travel friendly and sleek. The mask fits quite okay as we need a few folds here and there. Firstly I would like to tell that the mask has abundant essence, so much so that it was dripping from face at the chin. I somehow managed a few minutes and then wiped the excess with cotton.

The essence of this mask is very thick as compared to the Four Season masks. The essence smells exactly of fresh aloe gel and the thick consistency made me more think of that. The essence gets absorbed easily. After removing the mask I let the essence dry up on my face. I rinsed the essence once it dried up as I felt like I had put on a gel mask.
Post application the skin feels fresh, smooth, silly and soft. The mask gives a subtle temporary glow which lasts around 1 hour. I really liked this face mask as compared to the Four Season Series because of the thick essence.

The In
  • Makes the skin smooth and silky
  • Plumps up the skin a little
  • Gives a subtle temporary glow
  • Travel friendly and sleek packaging
  • Budget friendly
  • Contains skin friendly ingredient aloevera

The Out
  • I didn't find any.

Price and Shelf life - $1.50 and only expiry date is provided.

Availability - Available on Skin18.com here

Recommendation - I would totally recommend Foodaholic Aloe Natural Essence Mask as it is truly food for skin. It directly provides the skin much needed nourishment via the essence. A must try if you are Korean skincare fan.

Organic Trends: Beauty Guide

Lately people are giving more importance to the “green” lifestyle, and though at first it only involved food, today that trend is spreading to a number of other life aspects, including clothing, architecture, cleaning products and beauty industry. In this last aspect, going green is even more important than in the other ones, because what we apply to our skin is absorbed into our organism in certain measure, and thus, it can harm our health. With the growing number of organic beauty products manufacturers and increases in demand for organic cosmetics, we can see many revolutionary changes in this type of industry, which are additionally improving the organic beauty lines and making them more appealing and available.

Refreshing Summer drinks (fruits)

Summers are in full swing this year in India , thanks to the pollution and urbanisation. Bangalore has already beat Chennai in terms of temperature. I still remember how cool bangalore felt when I made it my home 5 years back (enough of nostalgia).

One way of beating the heat is refreshing cool drinks (non-alcoholic). They not only help the body cool down but also improve the health of the skin due to their nutritional values. Let's see some refreshing, easy to make at home drinks with minimum ingredients. For this post I have collaborated with the buttercups Shwetali from Not So Hard To be Pretty and Dipti from Gorgeously Flawed.

Aam panna – made up of cooked raw mangoes and jaggery it is an ideal summer drink. It helps in keeping the body cool. Raw mangoes being
rich in vitamin c and iron and jaggery being an ideal glucose source, the panna helps in giving energy lost due to dehydration and sweating.

Watermelon drinks
Watermelon is 98% water and some percentage sucrose. When eaten chilled it gives a heavenly feeling to the senses.

Watermelon and mint
Watermelon juice when blended with few mint leaves makes an excellent change to the drink.

Watermelon and gulkand
Watermelon when added with a spoonful of gulkand gives the necessary sweetness and adds a subtle rose flavour to it.

Watermelon and lemon drink
Watermelon juice alongwith a little lemon juice gives a lemony flavour to the drink.

Pineapple, apple and strawberries when blended together make a tangy drink.

Another drink which I have already posted is
Coffee toppled with grated chocolate

I usually refrain from adding sugar, salt, chaat masala to the above drinks, but you can add them according to your taste. Please avoid drinking colas and readymade juices because you are harming the body instead of helping it.

So hope you all enjoy the drinks and beat the summer heat. Also don't forget to take extra care of your skin. And don't forget to checkout Shwetali's and Dipti's posts.

Tell me your favourite drinks (non-Al....)!!!

Nose strips from skin18.com Review

If you know me or are following my blog you might know I have oily skin which turns oily-combination in winters. The nose part becomes very oily and I frequently need to give my face a steaming session to get rid of those nasty white heads and black heads (blackheads don't budge although).

Today we will be talking about the nose strips I received from skin18.com. I received three nose strips and I have used them all and am here to tell you whether they are beneficial or not.

Directions for use -
The nose strips are to be used after cleansing and I did the same each time. The nose should be thoroughly wet and then stick the strip. The strip hardens after sometime and slowly it is to be removed.

Let's see one by one the review of the nose strips which I used at a gap of almost 2 - 3 days.

1) Luke Mugwort Nose Cleansing Strip
This is the first one which I tried. It was pale green coloured and smelled very synthetic. It smelled as if some burned paper or plastic. The smell didn't linger much though. I kept the nose strip for about 10 minutes after which I felt a stretchy feeling and i removed the strip. My nose felt a little sticky and after dabbing some water it was all smooth. I rinsed it a bit and applied toner (with the thought that it removes the blackheads and open.pores should be closed :D).
It didn't remove the blackheads but certainly reduced it size( I don't know how). Overall I was happy with the results.

2) Luke Lemon Tea Tree Nose Cleansing Strip
With the lemon tea mentioned in the strip name I expected it to smell like lemon. But to my dismay it smelled like the above strip and the fragrance faded away as soon as I applied the nose strip. This time I kept it for 20 minutes and slowly removed the strip. All my uprooted white heads could be seen on it and my nose was all smooth and evened out. It didn't show any effects on black heads but.
I immediately rinsed my nose (but very little sticky residue was left since the strip had hardened) and applied a toner.

3) Luke Charcoal Nose Cleansing Strip
This strip was black coloured and I followed the usage steps and my nose was free of stubborn whiteheads. As always I applied a toner after the usage. The fragrance of this strip was also synthetic and faded away quickly as soon as I put it on.

Overall I think the strips are a good option when you are in a hurry an don't have time to steam and all. Let's see the in and out of the nose strips.

The In

  • Easy to use, hassle free procedure
  • Travel and budget friendly
  • Uproots stubborn whiteheads
  • Length of the strip is useful for nose adjacent area also
  • Fragance doesn't linger much ( this is a pro for my picky nose).

The Out

  • Very synthetic fragrance
  • Breath of strip would have been a little more
  • Doesn't show any effects on black heads

I would really recommend these nose strips for successful uprooting of white heads. If you frequently steam your face and use blackheads extractors then for a change you can surley try these. It is very effective in uprooting large whiteheads also.
Do try once if you are looking for a change.

Tell me your whitehead removal techniques and your urls...
