Kallos Rose and Honey nourishing face scrub and aloevera gel Review

Lets see the review of Kallos Rose and Honey nourishing face scrub and aloevera gel today

Rose and honey face scrub

Brand claims and Ingredients

My experience
The packaging is cute pink, flip cap tube packaging which is very attractive. The scrub is baby pink in colour with dark pink scrub particles. The scrub does its job effectively and removes white heads and dead skin. The scrub mositurizes the skin and gets washed off the easily. The smell is sweet floral and mesmerising but might feel artificial for some people.

The fragrance doesn't linger much though. The scrub particles are appropriate in size and density, not too harsh nor too less. The scrub is creamy in nature and gets absorbed easily.

The In
  • Removes dead skin and dirt easily
  • Mositurizes the skin
  • Gets washed off easily
  • Scrub particles are in moderate quantity and size
  • Travel friendly size and packaging

The Out
A little artifical fragance

Price and Shelf life - 80 INR for 60 gms with a shelf life of 2 years.

Aloevera gel

Brand claims and Ingredients

My experience
The aloevera gel is also tube packaging and with a twist up cap. The aloevera gel is very faint coloured almost nil colour. The fragrance is also awesome which is not too strong. The consistency of the gel is perfect neither runny nor thick. It is just perfect for application.

The gel gets absorbed in the skin easily and moisturises the skin leaving it super soft and feeling clean. As far as breakouts are concerned I don't have any so I cannot comment whether they are beneficial in that case or not. Overall the gel is a good option to try out.

The In
  • Gets absorbed in skin easily
  • Perfect consistency which makes application easy
  • Not artificial smelling fragrance
  • Travel friendly size and packaging
The Out

  • Didn't find any

Price and Shelf life - 70 INR for 60 ml with a shelf life of 2 years

Availability- both the products are available on major shopping portals

Recommendation - I would totally recommend both the products if you are looking for a change. Some may find the scrub a little artifical smelling but the aloevera gel is a great option to try out. I would personally like the aloevera gel and would prefer skipping the rose and honey scrub.

NB - Products sent by brand for review. Honest review.

Kallos Fruits and Milk Cream Review

Today's review is about Kallos Fruits and Milk Cream which is intensely mositurising and super affordable. Read the review to know more.

Brand claims

Ingredients
DM water, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Cetyl Alcohol,  glycerin, dimethicone, GMS SE, Emulsifying wax, Iso propyl mystriate, Arlcael 165, Almond oil, Hydrolyzed Milk Protein, Cocoa Butter, GMS, 2 Phenoxyethanol, Allantoin,  vitamin E, green apple extract, aloevera extract, strawberry extracts, fragrance.

My experience
Firstly let's talk about the packaging, it's a heavy tub packaging since it is 200 gms pack. The cream is pure white in colour and smells amazing like fruits, more like a perfume. I don't mind the fragrance at all.

Now coming to the effects of the cream, the cream is thick in nature and you just need a small quantity for hands and legs. The cream gets absorbed easily in the skin leaving a shiny sheen to the skin without the stickiness. How cool is that?

Now the parts where I used are hands, feet, legs and my heels. It instantly softens cracked heels (yes I have cracked heels due to hard water supply in the place I stay). It mositurizes without leaving any stickiness and oily feeling. It gives a shiny sheen sans the oily feeling.

Reapplication is needed after around 6-7 hours after which my skin was not that dry so as to apply a cream.
It is just an amazing cream which I would definitely recommend all of you to try out at least once. Plus it contains Aloe extracts, green apple extracts, strawberry extracts sans the parabens *happy dance*. Ofcourse it has other chemicals but certainly doesn’t contain artifical colour (atleast not in ingredients list)

The In
  • Amazing effects on skin
  • Leaves a shiny sheen on skin without the stickiness
  • Softens heels and elbows instantly
  • Paraben free
  • Artifical colour free
  • Contains Aloe extracts, green apple extracts, strawberry extracts
  • Super affordable
  • Reapplication after 6-7 hours

The Out
  • Tub packaging is not travel friendly

Price and Shelf life - 150 INR for 200 gms with a shelf life of 3 years

Availability - Available on major shopping portals.

Recommendation
I would highly recommend this cream for all as a hand and body nourishing cream since it is Paraben free. Plus it is super affordable and I simply love it's fragrance. I would highly recommend you all to try it...

Kallos Chandan and honey facial cleanser Review

Today we will be talking about Kallos Chandan and honey facial cleanser. Let's directly go to the review.

Brand claims
Ingredients and direction for usage

My experience
The Chandan and honey facial cleanser is housed in a normal facewash packaging is very bright orange. I liked the colour of the packaging. The facewash is tangy orange in colour. The facewash smells like incandescent stick of Chandan. The fragrance doesn't linger much though.

The facewash foams well and cleanses the skin quite well. But it is not at all drying. But may strip oil for dry skinned beauties. It aggravates the dry patches if you have already. I have a dry patche near my nose and that was dried further after using the facewash.

The In
  • Attractive colour packaging
  • Travel friendly and budget friendly
  • Contains honey and Chandan oil
  • Removes excess oil from oily skin

The Out
  • It would be good if it doesn't contain artifical colour
  • Not for dry skinned beauties

Price and Shelf life - 75 INR for 60 ml with a shelf life of 2 years

Availability - Available on major shopping portals.

Recommendation
Yes if you are looking for affordable facewash and have oily skin and you want to try out different facewash. Dry skinned beauties may skip this.

IHA Vedic Aripra scrub Review

Scrub is an important part of skincare regime. Although I had been ignoring it for many days but recently after reading so many experiences I have been using scrubs regularly. Let's see the review of a scrub which claims to be ayurvedic. Today's review is about IHA Vedic Aripra scrub

Brand claims

Ingredients and direction for usage

My experience
The packaging is luxurious and glass tub which has a nice shape. The screw lid is plastic and also a bit thick. The packaging does feel heavy for the amount of scrub. I have no problem as I avoid carrying glass package during travelling.

The scrub is peachy pink in colour (ma favourite colour) with walnut like particles in it. The particles are dense which provide great scrub effect. The scrub is thick creamy in nature and while scrubbing the scrub gets absorbed easily by the skin. After the first application itself my skin smoothenes out. After the creaminess gets absorbed the particles remain. The particles may seem harsh if scrubbed rigorously. Gentle scrubbing will remove dead cells, oil, dirt.

The fragrance of the scrub is very very nice and is fruity and lingers a bit for sometime. I am not able to exactly tell which fragrance it is like but it is definitely pleasant. But it is not at all bothering. This is a very great scrub if you are looking for a change.

The In
  • Luxurious packaging
  • Affordable price and according to the quantity offered
  • Creamy based scrub which gets absorbed easily
  • Effectively removes dead cells, oil and dirt
  • Leaves the skin smooth and evened out
  • Great fragrance which is not bothering
  • Paraben free

The Out
  • Particles may seem harsh if scrubbed rigorously
  • Glass packaging maybe a problem for some.

Price and Shelf life -175 INR for 40g with a shelf life of 2 years.

Recommendation - I would highly recommend you all to try this scrub for its effectiveness. What I like the most about this scrub is the fragrance and creamy nature. I would surely recommended this scrub to one and all......

Kallos Deep Pore Cleansing Milk Review

I regularly use cleansing milk for cleaning my face and neck. I have used Ayur cleansing milk all of my life and recently switched to Himalaya Herbals cleansing milk. Let's see the review of Kallos cleansing milk today .

Brand claims
A rich cleansing milk, comprising aloevera and glycerin, blended with lemon oil, lifts surface impurities and removes excess oil while maintaining the natural balance of the skin.

Ingredients

My experience
The cleansing milk is housed in a smiliar packaging to the mositurising lotion from Kallos. But the cleansing milk being thick in consistency it becomes difficult to dispense the product sometimes.

The cleansing milk is thick, creamy in nature and slight yellowish in colour. The fragrance is lemony and citrusy due to the preaence ofor lemon oil. It effectively removes oil, sweat and grime from face. As for makeup since I don't put on much makeup, it effectively removes the lipstick, eyeliner and BB cream. I have swatches below to demonstrate my point.

The thicker consistency makes a little difficult for the product to be removed by moist cotton balls. But the product works well. After cleansing it leaves the skin soft, fresh and clean.

The In
  • Sleek and travel friendly packaging
  • Removes dirt  sweat, grime effectively
  • Removes makeup effectively except some eye makeup
  • Contains aloevera and glycerin
  • Contains lemon oil
  • Leaves the skin soft and fresh
  • Doesn't irritate the skin
The Out
  • A little runny consistency would be better
  • A little more quantity for the price

Price and Shelf life - 175 INR for 100ml with a shelf life of 2 years

Availability - Available on Shopclues

Recommendation
Yes I would definitely recommend the Kallos cleansing milk as it effectively removes the makeup and dirt from face. I would love a little runny consistency for more application ease and removal as well. Overall the cleansing milk is a good option to try out.

Tell me your urls and your favourites.

Kallos Neem and Basil facewash Review

I have oily skin which becomes oily-combination in winters. But since summers are almost here in Bangalore it is time to take care of skin. Let's see the review of facewash which is meant for oily skin.

Brand claims and Ingredients

My experience
The facewash is tube packaged like most of the facewashes are. The facewash is light green coloured and is of little runny consistency. Ithe fragrance is exactly like Hamam soap though the soap claims to be soap free.

The facewash does an excellent job of cleaning the face and getting rid of oily skin. It foams well and gets washed off easily. It doesn't leave a residue behind. The facewash when used a little excess dries out the skin. If used in adequate quality the facewash doesn't dry out the skin.

What I didn't like about the facewash is the artifical smell and colour. Please see the ingredients list for the colour. Otherwise it is a good facewash for oily skinned beauties. It claims to prevent pimples but since I don't have any breakouts so I cannot comment on that claim. If the fragrance and colours are avoided it would minimize the chemical content.of the facewash.

The In
  • Travel friendly
  • Budget friendly
  • Contains neem and basil
  • Cleanses skin as well as reduces oil from oily face
  • Gets washed off easily
  • Doesn't leave a residue
  • Soap free (claims to be)
  • Contains no parabens (not in ingredients list)

The Out
  • Contains artifical colour
  • May be drying if used in excess at one time.
  • Little runny consistency

Price and shelf life - 85 INR for 100ml with a shelf life of 3 years.

Availability - Available on major shopping portals.

Recommendation
If you are on a budget and are looking for a good facewash for oily skin then this facewash is totally recommended. It may also help prevent pimples because of Neem and Basil content. Overall it is good facewash, I wouldn't repurchase though.

NB - Product sent by brand for review. Honest review.

Auravedic Skin Lightening Oil Review

I have been using oil to get rid of dark spots over years and have already written a post on this method, you can read it here. Using oil for getting rid of dark spots us not only effective but also most natural way. Today's review is about a skin lightening oil which claims to reduce dark spots. Let's see if it lives upto it's claims or not.

Brand claims of  Auravedic Skin Lightening Oil
This powerful skin oil provides the purest, most natural and effective way of reducing dark spots & pigmentation, delivering essential nutrients into your skin’s upper layers. Revealing lighter, brighter, radiant and youthful looking skin.

Usage : Gently massage every morning & night on clean skin using upward circular movements. I have used it only at night.

Key Ingredients : Turmeric Oil, Saffron Oil, Winter Cherry Extract, Curcumin Oil, Licorice Extract, Orange Oil, Chamomile Oil, Vitamin E, Coconut Oil, Lime Oil, Alium Cepa Extract, Piper Betel Extract, Laksha Oil, Cedrus Deodara Oil, Saussurea Lappa Oil, Katuki Oil, Rasna Extract, Shatawa Oil.

My experience with Auravedic Skin Lightening Oil
Firstly, let's talk about the packaging, it is a plastic bottle with a plastic nozzle and metallic screw top. The packaging makes it difficult to dispense the product and dispenses more than required amount. It would be great if it had a drip nozzle so that oil could be dispensed drop by drop.

The fragrance of the oil is strong citrusy which maybe bothersome to some people. If applied it in small quantity the fragrance doesn't feel strong nor does it linger.

Now coming to the usage I applied the oil at night before bed and left overnight. The oil is very lightweight and is not at all sticky or greasy. I used it on my almost faded acne scars and it has helped some of them disappear. I am also using it on pigmentation patch below my lower lip and it is showing slow effects. It's inevitable since natural products take time and patience for results. But the results are ever lasting. The oil is very effective in getting rid of acne spots, dark spots and pigmentation. But if you have very dark spots be patient it will take some time to reduce them but they will be reduced for sure.

The In
  • Impressive ingredients list
  • Free of Parabens, SLS
  • Free of Harmful Chemicals & Colours
  • Budget friendly product
  • Less amount is required so product lasts longer
  • Product is value for money
  • Contains all natural ingredients
  • Overnight use plumps up the skin giving even toned skin
The Out
  • The nozzle cap which makes product dispensing difficult
  • Some may find fragrance bothering but since the product lives upto it's claims I have no complaints about it.

Price and Shelf life - 250 INR for 100 ml with a shelf life of 2 years.

Recommendation of Auravedic Skin Lightening Oil
Yes I would totally recommend the Auravedic Skin Lightening Oil for its effectiveness and budget friendliness. Plus it's the most natural way of getting rid of dark spots and skin related problems. Do try once if you suffer from dark spots and am sure you won't be disappointed. I will surely repurchase this product for pigmentation as I have been practicing oil for dark spots over the years.

Kallos Apple cedar exfoliating face scrub Review

Many people avoid scrub in skincare routine. It's important to scrub once in a while and at the same time not overdo it. Let's see the review of Kallos Apple cedar exfoliating face scrub.

Brand claims
Apple extract has an effective anti ageing, anti acne & brightening effect on the skin layer. cedar oil has a sedating & toning ability that is great for oily skin. (information taken from product label)

Ingredients

My experience
The scrub is creamy in nature which doesn't require water for usage unlike other scrubs. The creamy texture of the scrub makes it a great exfoliant.

I massaged the scrub slowly till it dried up. The granules are tiny enough for the scrub effect. They are not at all harsh and do their job perfectly well. The density of the scrub particles is also good as they are not dense as well as scarce.
The scrub is tub packaged in a plastic tub and has a foil and then the screw lid. I have totally removed the foil so that it's easy to take the product out.
Now coming to the effects of the scrub, the scrub perfectly removes dead skin cells, oil and white heads. It leaves the skin smooth and evened out. Although it didn't dry out my oily skin, it may, in case of, dry skinned beauties. The whitening effect lasts for a while after using the scrub and am least concerned about this claim.

The scrub has a fresh green apple fragrance which sometimes might feel artificial. After using the scrub the fragrance doesn't linger much, so isn't bothersome. The scrub lathers a wee bit while washing off and that's evident by the SLS in the ingredients list. The product claims to clear the pores and does remove white heads. But black heads are reduced by a considerable amount. Some may find chemicals bothering but the scrub is perfect.

The In
  • Creamy scrub can be used without water
  • Scrub particles are small, so no harsh effects on skin
  • Scrub particles' density is perfect
  • Removes dirt, dead cells and oil effectively
  • Leaves the skin smooth and evened out.
  • Don't dry out oily skin
  • Budget friendly
  • Product is value for price
The Out
  • Contains parabens and SLS
  • Some may prefer tube packaging
Price and Shelf life - 100ml for 150 INR with a shelf life of 2 years.

Availability - Available on major shopping portals.

Recommendation
Overall it is a very good scrub at the price it is offered. The scrub effect, the consistency , the fragrance everything is good. At such a cost not much is expected, still the product does does an excellent job of a scrub. I would definitely recommend to use this scrub if you looking out for a new scrub.

My favourite photo editing apps for blogging

We all know how important smartphone have become in our life. They have almost replaced laptops for personal use. Apps become an inevitable part of smartphones, almost every Web application has an app. Apps make our life easier and provide an on-the-go option.

Today we will be discussing 4 most used apps for blogging by me. I use these apps for image editing and hope the information is useful to you.

For this post I have collaborated with Dipti from Rainbow Columns and Shwetali from Not So Hard To be Pretty. Do checkout their recommendations as well. #IndianBbloggersCollabs We have decided to collaborate for blog ideas and posts and this is our first post...:)

Apps are sorted based on favourite meter.

1) Font Studio
I cannot thank enough the makers of this app. The app is so useful in making your own customised images, especially for a DIY post or watermarking images with your blog name. The fonts available for image imprints have a wide range of variety right from professional fonts to comic to cute and are of superior quality. The filters available are not so appealing. It also has shape imprints, picsart imprints which I find very useful.

The only problem with the app is the intermittent ads which pop up whenever we are about to exit. There is no option to add transparent background to the image if the image is wee bit small.
The app makes it to my number one position.

2) PicsArt
Picsart is an app I cannot live without. It has almost everything frames, collage, picsart, fonts, filters. I mostly use this app to watermark my images via callouts. The picsart available are cute and can be used to make giveaway or winner announcements. They also make packages available for download such as spring frame packages which once downloaded can be used via the app. The app is also useful for creating before after images.

The filters are not so appealing and the font fill colour combinations are not so good. That is the only thing I don't like.

3) Instagram
Now you would say how Instagram will help in editing the images. I am taking about the Instagram filters here. They have some really good filters and if you want to add one, apply one and the image gets saved on your smartphone for later use.

4) Photo Editor
Photo Editor I started using recently. The app is a little difficult to use. But once you get a jest of it, it's easy to use. Mostly I use for cropping the image. If at all we want to crop a desired section of image it allows us to do so. The watermarking effect is amazing of this app, but watermark I mean the literally meaning of it.

So this was a list of my most used photo editing apps for blogging. Pour in your suggestions and recommendations.

Kallos Almond and Saffron moisturizing lotion Review

I am big body lotion hoarder and the wider the variety the happier I am. So when the brand Kallos sent me some of their products for reviewing I was excited after I saw body lotion in the package. Kallos is a cosmetic brand by Haldiram's Namkeen. Some products are little artifical smelling but some products are really good at the cost which they are offered. I will soon review the other products, as I want to thoroughly test them before reviewing. Let's see the review of Kallos Almond and Saffron moisturizing lotion today.

Brand claims
The rich aromatic moisturiser instantly hydrates, soothes and nourishes the skin. Its light feel and uva/uvb protection will make your skin soft and supple. (information taken from website)

Ingredients

Some spelling mistakes in ingredients list

My experience
Firstly I am impressed with the pump packaging. It is compact, sleek packaging which makes it travel friendly. The cap is also tight and doesn't come out easily. The pump nozzle is small in size though, so more pumps are needed to dispense the required amount of product.

The lotion is pale cream coloured and thick in consistency. It has a pleasant fragrance which neither lingers much nor is artifical. It gets absorbed in the skin easily without a greasy residue or feeling. It moisturizes the skin very well but reapplication is needed after around 10 hours.

I am not sure of the UVA/UVB claims of the lotion. I think many chemicals can be avoided if UVA/UVB protection is not included in the product. Some may find UVA/UVB protection good, I am not concered about this claim and not tested it that way.

The In
  • Gets absorbed easily in the skin
  • Mositurizes the skin well
  • Pump packaging makes product dispensing easy
  • Travel friendly packaging as the cap is secured tightly
  • Fragrance doesn't linger much
  • Doesn't feel heavy on the skin

The Out
  • Contains parabens
  • Contains many chemicals maybe due to UVA/UVB claims which can be avoided

Price and Shelf life - 175 INR for 100 ml with a shelf life of 2 years.

Availability - Available on major shopping portals.

Recommendation
It is an affordable body lotion with the goodness of almond and saffron. The packaging is sleek and travel friendly, the lotion is of thicker consistency. I would recommend this lotion for normal skinned people, but dry skinned beauties may need a reapplication. It is a good body lotion which is affordable too. I would definitely recommend the Kallos Almond and Saffron moisturizing lotion as a change. You may skip it if you avoid parabens and other chemicals in lotion.
