VanityCask August 2017 Unboxing – Monsoon Makeover Edition

August is a special month for me, ask me why? It's my birth month and my son's birth month as well. When I received the VanityCask August Box - Monsoon Makeover I was super excited. The theme revolves around the Monsoon keeping in mind the special needs of the season. Checkout the previous unboxing of the VanityCask boxes here. Let's see what all the box has to offer.

Glamisha Sulphate Free Shampoo
This one is a new brand but since Sulphate free shampoos work well for me, I may give this a try. The product is a full size in the box.
Brand Claims - The Sulphate Free Shampoo from Glamisha uses the most premium ingredients that moisturise & nourish your hair. The Shampoo is a non-foaming formulation, which is sulphate and paraben free. The aloe-vera in the shampoo has healing properties which conditions your hair, as you perform your cleaning ritual.
Price - 395 INR for 100ml. Full size in the box.

Glamisha Hair Conditioner
I like using a hair conditioner on days when I have to attend any function or am meeting my friends. I rarely use them as they tend to weigh down my hair too much, making my hair limp. Let's see how my experience is after using this product. Again this product is a full size in the box.
Brand Claims - The Glamisha Hair Conditioner loaded with Pro Vitamin B5 & Tea Tree Oil is the perfect follow up to your shampooing routine. The Tea Tree Oil helps to unclog hair follicles, nourish your roots and reduce hair fall gradually. The Pro Vitamin B5 helps preserve moisture, and the Aloe-Vera conditions the hair.
Price - 355 INR for 100 ml. Full size in box

Gulnare Pumpskin Face Wash
Gulnare has nice product range, however I haven't purchased any products considering the price range. I liked the Aloe Vera and Vitamin E Face Cream received in the June box as well as the scrub in July Box. If you are following my blog you might be knowing that I use dry powder cleansers and may skip this as I don't want to again change my face acre routine. This is the third full size product in the box.
Brand Claims - Made with pumpkin, honey & rosehip oil, this natural, all-purpose daily cleanser not only provides a wonderful pumpkin spice aroma, but is gentle enough for ultra sensitive skin while providing a deep pore cleanse. It works double duty by washing away surface impurities and protects skin’s moisture balance. Great for normal to oily skin types
Price - 400 INR for 60 ml. Full size in box.

Votre Multi Vitamin Face Masque
After having a good experience with Votre Advanced Multi Vitamin night Cream, Votre Absolute Hydration Moisturiser and Votre scrub, am looking forward to trying this Masque which is a multi vitamin one. The product received is 30 gms deluxe sized, but as you all know a face pack goes a long way with as a thin layer also does the trick.
Brand Claims - The perfect monsoon recovery face-mask, this product is enriched with rich properties of botanical extracts & essential oils, this extra-ordinary face masque rejuvenates the skin & improves skin elasticity. It also removes pigmentation marks & blemishes & reduces skin ageing. The multi vitamin masque will make your skin healthy and glowing. This masque is proven to lighten the appearance of dark spots, correct uneven skin tone, and significantly brighten the complexion. The highly concentrated treatment formula is also proven to replenish and preserve hydration for 24 hours, promote suppleness and smooth skin texture so you get youthful-looking, luminous skin.
Price - 1260 INR for 100 gms. Sample size of 30 gms in the box.

The Nature’s Co White Tea Night Cream
I have literally fallen in love with TNC massage cream and Bearberry Liquorice cream which I have used previously. I am sure this night cream will also be a good bet considering the ingredients. I will be posting a review of this cream so stay tuned for it.
Brand Claims - Here’s how you put your skin in recovery mode as you go to sleep, this monsoon! White tea has anti- ageing effects and antioxidant properties that boost the immune function of the skin cells. In addition, it replenishes and hydrates your skin. This product from The Nature’s Co. takes care of all your skin woes while you rest in slumber.
Price - 995 INR for 50 gms. Sample size of 25 gms in the box.

In addition to the above we also receive vouchers from Raw Pressery, Kaya and JE Couturier

They also have an offer if you buy a 3 month subscription for 2399 INR and get a Babor product worth 4800 INR absolutely free. There is an option to select product of your choice from Babor range.

Overall the box has come a long way from providing sample size products in the initial Editions to full size products along with popular brand sample size products in the latest edition. I really like how the products are selected keeping the season and theme in mind. I am really happy with this month box. I have always longed for brands like Votre, Gulnare Skincare and TNC but never purchased any full size products due to their high price range. This box gives me the opportunity to explore these brands keeping my budget in mind. Totally recommended this month's Monsoon Makeover box.

Svastikrtu Almond Shea Carrot Papaya Soap Review

First and foremost let me tell you all how much I love handmade soaps especially the cold processed ones. Cold process soaps are the ones made from scratch unlike melt and pour soaps wherein a base is melted and different ingredients are added to make the soap. I especially love soaps which use butters since they are very moisturising and make the skin soft and supple. Let's check what the soap we are reviewing today has to offer.

Brand claims
Scented with gentle maychang palmarosa and sweet orange essential oils. Very gentle cleansing and mild, moisturising soap.

Organic Almond oil, Spanish extra virgin olive oil, raw unrefined shea butter and organic coconut oil, noushing carrot powder, papaya, honey, turmeric and organic desi cow fresh milk cream.

My experience
Let me rave about the packaging of the soap. The semi transparent silky potli bag, the degradable outer plastic bag, the paper wrap and the cotton thread. All the packaging material is either reusable or degradable. Such a thoughtful message the product carries with itself.

Now coming to the fragrance of the soap, it has an amazingly earthy yet yummy fragrance. I cannot describe the fragrance in words although, once we hold the soap in our hands and smell it we instantly feel like taking a quick bite! I am pretty bad at describing the fragrance actually, I mean how to describe what we feel when we breathe a fragrance?!

Advancing over the business part, the soap lathers quite well and the foam is frothy and not bubbly. I like exactly this quality of all handmade soaps that they just don't lather for bubbles they lather for cleansing 😁. The soap does a good job of cleansing the skin and I do use handmade soaps on my face too (never faced any problem though). The fragrance isn't lingering at all. Since the fragrance is due to the essential oils used (mentioned in the ingredients list) it fades away quickly. I cannot tolerate a lingering fragrance for long as I get headache due to it. So that is not a problem at all. Also please remember any lingering fragrance usually is artificial fragrance which is made up of many chemicals, so better no fragrance than a bunch of chemicals.

Coming onto the effects of the soap, the soap didn't dry out my skin but it didn't leave it soft also, as I had expected. Although the soap cleanses thoroughly well, when we try to smell the soap while bathing it emits a washing bar sort of smell not a strong one, only picky noses like me would be bothered with this. Also the soap doesn't diminish in size as normal handmade soaps do, so that's a plus point. Summing up the In and Out below.

The In

  • Good ingredients list
  • Doesn't contain artificial fragrance
  • Contain essential oils which are soothing as fragrance
  • Cleanses the skin well
  • Doesn't dry out the skin
  • Does become gooey when comes in contact with water
  • Can be used directly under stream
  • Reusable and/or degradable outer packaging

The Out
  • Sometimes smells like a washing bar when smelled at really close distance
  • Doesn't make the skin soft

Price, Shelf life and Availability - 280 INR for 110 gms. Cold processed soap so they get better with time. The products can be ordered via Facebook page of Svastikrtu Natural. They accept Paytm and NEFT payment methods.

Almond Shea Carrot Papaya Soap is one of it's kind flavor soap which doesn't disappoint you on the fragrance front as well as packaging wise. I did like the idea of fragrance using essential oils instead of using artificial fragrances. Also packaging used is reusable and degradable. I would not say it is a must teyo out soap but it would definitely love up to the expectations of a good handmade soap.

Mama Earth Nourishing Body Lotion for Mama Review

I have repurchased Mama Earth products quite a few times for my son, the body wash and shampoo to be specific. I totally like their packaging as I have travelled while carrying them and never had a problem at all. Recently they came up with their Mama Range meant solely for new moms and moms-to-be. Let's head straight to the review and see whether the lotion is a hit or miss.

Brand claims and Ingredients

My experience
The product packaging is a total winner, having double caps which fit in tightly as well as a pump up packaging. The packaging has not even a sleek chance of leakage. The pump up packaging works fine but dispenses small amount of body lotion. So if you want more amount of lotion you may have to pump endlessly. But since the packaging is very travel friendly I don't have any qualms regarding the small pump size.

Coming to the consistency of the body lotion it is a bit thick (read non runny) and colour is white. The lotion spreads easily on the skin and gets absorbed even easily. Coming to the fragrance of the body lotion it has a floral aroma (guess because of Geranium Essential Oil) which is quite soothing and uplifting. The fragrance fades away as soon as you apply the lotion. I would have loved if the fragrance lingered a bit, as it is soothing and calming. But since I have a sensitive nose I don't mind if the fragrance doesn't linger.

The body lotion hydrates the skin sufficiently and moisturises normally. The skin doesn't feel overtly moisturized or no sticky residue is left behind, considering the fact that it has butters in it. The lotion offers around 8-7 hours of moisturization, considering the fact that I have normal body skin. After 7 hours my skin it's overtly dry or I don't feel the need to reapply the lotion. However applying post 7 hours is recommended if you have dry skin.

The In

  • Contains Jojoba oil, Cocoa butter, Olive Oil, Wheatgerm oil, Calendula extract, Aloevera Extracts
  • Has amazing floral fragrance
  • Moisturises the skin for good 8-7 hours
  • Secure packaging makes it travel friendly
  • Neither runny nor thick
  • Gets absorbed easily
  • Doesn't leave a sticky or watery feel on the skin while applying as well as post application

The Out

  • The pump up dispenser size is too small and we need to endlessly pump up for large quantity
  • A bit of lingering fragrance would be soothing for expecting moms and new moms

Price, Shelf life and Availability - 349 INR for 200 ml with a shelf life of 2 years. Available on Amazon

Overall the moisturising lotion is a good option for moms-to-be and new moms considering the fact that they are paraben, silicone and mineral oil free. Since there are not many products suited for pregnancy and post pregnancy use, this one is totally recommended.

Blue Nectar Shubhr Ayurvedic Sandalwood Brightening and Radiance Cream Review, Price, Availability

I have long back skipped using moisturiser due to the fear of getting acne (silly me πŸ˜›). But after realising my mistake, I never do so. Recently I received the Blue Nectar products. I have read some rave reviews of the Blue Nectar face wash. I was excited to try this cream from them. Let's hop on to the review to see if it lives upto the claims or not.

Brand claims - Blue Nectar Shubhr Ayurvedic Sandalwood Brightening and Radiance Cream is a powerful Ayurveda based formula created from the finest of Sandalwood. Rich Sandalwood along with 13 other Vital herbs helps to lighten and brighten the Uneven Skin, Reduce Dark Circles and Pigmentation Marks. Apply the cream after cleaning and toning.

Directions for usage - Take a small quantity of cream and apply on face and neck area with upward strokes for 1-2 minutes.

Key Ingredients - Aloevera, Mulethi, Yashad Bahsma, Manjistha, Haldi, Glycerin, Sandalwood Oil, Ashwagandha, Kewra Flower, Khumani Oil, Til Oil, Coconut Oil, Apple Juice.

My experience
The product is packed in a square, plastic packaging with golden colour lid and jar. I find an uncanny similarity in the packaging with Votre Advanced Multi Vitamin Night Crème. The jar isn't heavy though, as it seems. The jar also has an inner lid to prevent product spillage. The jar is safe enough to carry during travelling, but due caution is to be taken of not dropping the jar.

Coming to the consistency of the cream, it is of medium consistency, neither being too thick nor too runny. The cream spreads easily and gets absorbed in the skin absolutely in no time. It instantly evens the skin tone by plumping up the skin with it's moisture content. The cream doesn't leave behind a film or any creamy feeling either. The cream is cream coloured with a slightest hint of orange colour.

The fragrance is mesmerizing since it contains Sandalwood oil. The fragrance lingers for around 1-2 hours after which it fades away. If I use the cream during day time, the fragrance doesn't bother me ( I have super sensitive nose 😭). If I use the cream at night time, instead of sleeping peacefully, I tend to sniff the fragrance endlessly and tend to lose my sleep. I have regularly used the cream for over 3 weeks (during day time and some days at night time). However with the night time experience, I make it a point to use it during day time only. Although it is advisable to use at any time or both day and night time.

Now the claims, the cream has given me a glowing skin with regular usage of 2 and half weeks. I do find my skin a bit brightened (don't confuse this with fairness). The skin feels instantly refreshed and smooth. It provides sufficient moisturization to the skin without causing any white heads. If you have oily skin, you can relate to what I am saying. Most of the creams I have used cause white heads with regular usage. But this one is an exception.

I would specially like to mention here that the cream has a potent formula of staying true to it's claims while not making the skin oily or causing white heads. However the cream would suit only oily to normal skin beauties. But the cream doesn't claim to suit dry skinned beauties so that's not a problem at all. However having a sensitive nose I couldn't use the cream at night. Since this is a personal preference it doesn't mean you will mind it, many people enjoy fragrance of oils in products.

The In

  • Secure packaging makes travel friendly
  • Sufficiently moisturises the skin without being oily or causing white heads
  • Makes the skin smooth and even toned
  • Perfect consistency of cream
  • Gets absorbed easily into the skin
  • Provides radiance and glow to the skin with regular usage of a minimum 2 weeks
  • Has mesmerizing fragrance of Sandalwood which lingers a bit
  • Suits normal to oily skinned beauties
  • Small quantity is needed, so the product lasts longer

The Out
  • I find the fragrance of Sandalwood a but problematic for night time use
  • High price point (courtesy Sandalwood oil), can be spotted on discount price at Amazon
  • Only key ingredients are mentioned

Price, shelf life and Availability - 1295 INR for 50 gms with a shelf life of 2 years from date of manufacture. Available on Blue Nectar website, Amazon as well Nykaa. You can get at discount here

The product lives upto the claims and helps in giving a glowing skin with regular usage. The high price point of the product can be attributed to the Sandalwood oil, which itself is costly. However good the product is, I wouldn't tag it as a must buy, but it's definitely recommended if you are into luxury skincare products.

Skincare Shopping : Essentials plus Wishlist

Hi All,

How are you all? I had been a bit unwell with the recent weather changes. I had bad dry cough and so it was really difficult to keep up with the blogging and pending reviews. If you have been following me on Instagram you might be knowing that I purchased some products.

Wait, before you make me feel guilty with the another shopping haul thought, let me clarify. I have stocked up some essentials and some products I had been longing to get hold. The pre GST sales were everywhere but I somehow ignored them. But not when my wishlist products were on sale. Let's hop on to the products I purchased

Lakme 9 to 5 CC Cream in shade Bronze (275 INR)
The CC cream and concealer I bought before going on the vacation. I had to attend two weddings and thought of doing some something to hide my pigmentation below lower lip. However I ended up using just the CC cream on the wedding function day ☹️. With my acne marks and pigmentation being a bit lightened up, Lakme CC cream suits me.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer stick in the shade Toffee Caramel (330) (550 INR)
The shade initially didn't suit me, but now since my pigmentation has reduced a bit it blends okay sort. I wanted a liquid concealer from the Maybelline Fit Me range, however the SA at Health n Glow outlet handed me this and I bought it 😁😁😁.

Bon Organics Aloe Vera Shampoo (124 INR for 100 gms)
I recently found my HG shampoo and have restocked it. I want to do a full review on this one. This is a long pending review from my end πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ.

Blend It Raw Apothecary Rosehip Seed Oil (530 INR for 50ml with shipping)
After hearing some amazing things about Rosehip oil, I always wanted to try one. With the pre GST mayhem, there was a flat 50% sale and I immediately grabbed this one. I also got a good quantity at the price, but later on realised that finishing 50ml will take up a lot of time. Anyway amd happy I grabbed it.

BeautyIn Hair

Tosave.com sling bags
I go out a lot these days, and I needed some sling bags (I didn't own any till date πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ™„). I was offered free shopping from tosave.com to pen down my shopping experience. I was pretty happy with my shopping experience and I bought two doing bags, one is leather material and other one is cotton. I totally like both the sling bags.

So summing up, these are the products I bought in past few months apart from some other shopping which I have already blogged down. Do let me know what all you have been loving lately.

Am back with another Unboxing of VanityCask Box and this is the Fifth Edition of VanityCask. The box is named Radiant In Rain, which is curated, so as to leave you glowing in this gloomy weather. I really like how they name their editions keeping them in accordance with the contents. VanityCask box is priced at 999 INR for one month and can be ordered here. You can also subscribe to the other plans which offer a discount.

We all know how the rainy season is, especially for our mane. It makes our hair dull and limp due to the humidity. The humidity weather also calls for rapid bacteria growth which when not eradicated turn into moth formation, yucky right?? That's why VanityCask have curated the products keeping all this in mind. They have included a leave in conditioner, volumizing shampoo, two scrubs and an oil. Let's see the details of the box contents.

BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave in Cream
I have never used any leave in conditioner apart from the Garnier one, let alone BBlunt. I always wanted to try the brand BBlunt and am gald I received this cream. I recently chopped off my hair to shoulder length and not all times I like to apply oil. This one seems good and am excited to try it out. This is a full size product in the box and priced at 250 INR for 75 gms.

TNC Barley Volumizing Hair Cleanser
I never used to believe volumizing shampoos until I used one and that is Bon Organics shampoo. This one also sounds amazing and I have read some of my fellow bloggers good experience with this product. The size of the product is 50 ml and full size of 250 ml retails at 695 INR

Votre Advanced Gel Exfoliance
I have used this product after receiving the box. It gives a nice smooth finish to the skin while removing the dead skin cells. It also adds a glow to the face. The product quantity in the box is 30 gms and full size of 100 gms is priced at 850 INR.

Gulnare Zesty Lemond Face Exfoliator
After using the Gulnare Aloe Vit E Face cream from the Flawless Edition of VanityCask Box lats month, I have high expectations from this one. I haven't used it but the scrub is in dry form and I love using dry form products. Full size product of 100 gms retails at 650 INR. In the box the quantity of the product is 30 gms.

MoroccanOil Treatment
The star product of the box, Moroccan oil. The box has the quantity of 10 ml. The product is infused with antioxidant rich argan oil. It can be used as a conditioner, styling product or finishing one. I am excited to try out the product. The full size is priced at 2880 INR for 100 ml

Get your Radiant In Rain Edition before it's sold out.

Skincare and Haircare Empties #6

I have been struggling to empty some products. Finally managed to empty some products, some are favourites, some are just there, some are of no use and I think why did I buy them? Also I have mentioned whether it's worth buying or not. So let's get started with the list.

Bon Organics Jasmine Water
I thoroughly enjoyed using this face mist, the fragrance lingers and tightens the pores a bit. I also liked how it doubles up as a hair mist also. But I feel the price is a bit hyped and I would expect some extra quantity at the current price. But it's totally worth trying once and am sure beauties who like floral musts would definitely won't be disappointed.

Bon Organics Aloe Vera Shampoo
My favourite shampoo, I have already purchased another bottle and gonna use it till eternity. Sorry till, Bon Organics makes this shampoo. It cleanses the hair nicely, adds volume and is free from harmful chemicals, what to ask for more. Detailed review coming soon.

Rustic Art Aloe Vera gel
I didn't find any special effects of this aloe vera gel. It's not a water of money though, but I would have bought something else instead of getting this. Totally skippable.

The Body Shop British Rose Body Scrub
I had won this one in an Instagram giveaway and I liked how it works as a good body scrub. Although ignoring the price I would rate it as a good scrub and must try for TBS fans. I know TBS fans out there have already tried this one. But high price point is a strict no-no to me 😣😣. And yes, forgot to mention this was mainly used by my husband 😁.

Rooted Store Rose Water Hydrosol
Another floral water which  works great as an astringent as well as toner. However I share the same views as Bon Organics Jasmine Water. They would have offered little more quantity at the current price.

Forgot to take a pic of this one with all others

Lakme Clean Up Face Wash
I bought this one as I hadn't tried any lakme product except the Compact, so i ended up emptying this one, although i have switched to powder cleansers some months ago. This made my skin dry when I switched back to this post powder cleansers. But ahoy, it's over, happy skin days are here again.

Forgot to include this one in above picture,
but it surely needs special mention

Artisanal Skincare Orange Blossom Face Cleanser
My ultimate favourite powder cleansers! I thoroughly loved using this one and I would highly recommend oily skin and sensitive skin beauties to try this at least once. I will be repurchasing this one for sure.

Iraya Lotus Seed Cleansing Milk
Another favourite product, I so wish I hadn't emptied it. The fragrance is mesmerizing and it doesn't sting my sensitive nose area. Currently I have two bottles of VLCC Sandalwood Cleansing Milk, one purchased by me and another one received in the VanityCask June Box. So am awaiting them to be used to before repurchasing this one.

In short only three products are worth buying from the above list, the shampoo, the powder cleanser and cleansing milk. What all have you emptied in the past few months?

Colour your life featuring Pantone Graphics System

Have you ever thought that the pasture is greener on the other side or have you ever painted the town red??? After reading this you know what I mean and here I am not talking about colours, literally!! Such is the impact of the colours on our lives that we have ended up forming idioms based on colours, be it black is the new red or go green with envy. In both the above sentences red colour is associated with happiness or freedom whereas green has been associated with lushness or being envious. Colours define the way we perceive things and the way we take actions.

Colours influence, impact and evoke emotions and guide behaviour. With the world being more and more digital with each passing year, visual cues are often used for getting across the message or for communicating. Bright and bold shades of colour are attention grabbing whereas pastels often cheer up our mood and are quite refreshing. Colours also have a psychological effect on human minds. Each colour carries a message and has a meaning. In a digital world where visuals are used to stimulus, choosing the right colour as well as the right shade is very important. Let's take a look at the important things which impact our daily lives and where in colours play a major role.

Product Packaging or Labelling
Product packaging or labels can make or break a product. Studies show that often a colour coordinated packaged product ends up getting picked. Let me explain with an example regarding a skincare product. If a skincare product has a coffee or coffee infusion as the main ingredient in it, chances are I would pick it up instantly if the packaging shows coffee beans or is brown coloured as opposed to the green, pink or yellow. Here also visuals come in picture and help me make a decision. How? The packaging itself screams or says that I have coffee ingredient. Would it have been green or some other coloured I would have felt being deceived?

Website designing and colour schema
How often do you end up visiting a website and then immediately closing it most of the times? Having a good colour scheme along with a balance of white space makes a website stand out. Some websites are so alluring that we end up browsing them for hours. Good websites often have a balance between colours and white space and send out vital information to the end user helping them make a decision. Being a developer, I would often end up working on my code whereas I would ignore the designing part, although we had a dedicated design team. My manager would often laugh at me saying 'Who will use the functionality of the website when the design of the website is goofed up?' πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

Logo Designing and Branding
Logo designing makes a brand stand out from their competitors. The logo is the piece of visual which makes us remember the brand or its products. It has to be unique, specific to the brand and its purpose. As logo is a small visual, what makes it stand out is the right shade of the colour, which acts as stimulus making us think of the brand. Let's see the example of Facebook or Twitter. Whenever we see a simple lower case f in a blue colour we think of Facebook, whereas when we see a chirping aqua blue bird or t we think of Twitter 😁.

Now comes the big question how to choose the right shade of colour or which guide to use. You all might be aware that colours often change in visuals or graphics or textiles depending on the material they are being printed. Here, the Pantone Formula Guide Solid Coated & Uncoated comes to your rescue. It is the most popular guide in the world for brand guidelines and spot colour printing. It has the largest colour range in the Pantone Graphics System with 1,867 spot colours, including 112 new colours released in 2016. It is most commonly used for logos and branding as well as in marketing materials. Pantone Formula Guide Solid Coated & Uncoated is available at Textile Design Studio

Taste the best Indian snacks!

Being a true Punetie, I have literally gorged on local sweets whether it's Chitale Bandhu Mithaiwale Pedha or Shrewsbury Biscuits. Whenever we visited the Camp Area for my dentist appointment we used to pick up Shrewsbury Biscuits and Budhani wafer. Although my dentist appointment was just an excuse for all of us in the family to gorge on the iconic Shrewsbury Biscuits. Those native to Pune will know what Shrewsbury Biscuits means to a true #Punekar.

After getting married and shifting base to Bangalore, I rarely get an opportunity to eat my favourite biscuit, unless someone travelling from Pune carries it. Local snacks have a charm of their own be it their taste, the memories associated with them or the sheer art of the chefs. Recently I came across a website where I can order my favourite biscuits from the comfort of my own home. I no longer have to wait for someone to bring down Shrewsbury Biscuits, as I can just order it with a click and have it whenever I want. I am talking about the website Place of Origin, which stocks up India's Favourite Food Online.

Place of Origin is a Craftsvilla Unit which has 4000+ specialities from 375+ famous brands all over from India. The foods or snacks to be specific, are 100% authentic and prepared by original master chefs. What's unique about them is, the foods are shipped individually from the original producer to you.

The website also stocks up a variety of snacks ranging from namkeens to ready-to-cook breakfasts. Irregular and/or long working hours, chaotic traffic, far workplaces, tiring travels make it difficult for us to have healthy, home made meals all times. Results binge snacking. With more and more people being health conscious these days, healthy snacking has been quite a talk of the town. Let's take a look at some healthy, iconic snacks sourced from the original makers available for ordering online with Place of Origin.

A typical feature of Gujarati meal, thepla is a chapati, flavoured with spices which can be eaten as is or with vegetable or curd. It is a good breakfast option and also serves the purpose of a kid's tiffin item.

Wheat, rich in protein, fibre and carbohydrates is a popular grain in India. Choosing a snack of whole wheat roasted in sunflower oil is definitely a good choice. So go ahead and order this organic puffed wheat for a quick tea snack.

Enjoy this guilt free snack which is free from refined flour, refined sugar and iodised salt. Moreover, it is made up of the humble moong dal and doesn't contain any preservatives or additives. This too makes a great companion for tea time.

Onion moong chatpati is a twisted version of traditional moong and has a unique taste. It is a popular street food in Surat which can be savoured at home itself. It is a perfect snack as a healthy option as well as for entertainment purposes.

Lite Chiwda made with rice flakes is a popular one among the people who like to consume less oil. The salty, sweet flavour adds a charm of its own to the chiwda making it wanting for more.

Apart from this Place of Origin also stocks up pickles, jams, sauces, mixes, masala and much more. And yes I have already added my favourite biscuits to the cart. When are you ordering with them?

Aster Charismatic Oudh Liquid Hand Wash Review

Today I will be reviewing a hand wash from a premium brand called Aster Luxury. We all know how important it is to wash our hand before we cook or take our food. After becoming a Mommy, I have been extra careful of washing hands before eating food. Let's head straight to the review and check how this hand wash performs.

Brand claims
Enriched with the goodness of Oudh which cleanses, moisturises and smoothens your hands. It's sweet woody aroma exhilarates your senses.

Cocamido Propyl Betaine, Sodium Cocoyl Taurate, Capryl Glucoside, Glycerin, Aloe Vera Extract, Vitamin E Acetate, Aqua, Fragrance

My experience
The hand wash is housed in a plastic packaging with a square shape and pumo up packaging. I especially like the square shape since unlike round or other fancy shape it occupies minimal space near the sink or wash basin. The packaging works fine in dispensing the right amount of the product.

The hand wash is light yellow coloured and has a mesmerizing fragrance. The fragrance is Oudh, guessed it from the variant name. The hand wash foams quite well and a very less amount of hand wash is required for each usage. For washing hands just one pump is enough. The product doesn't dry out the hand skin no matter how many times you wash your hands. I have kept this hand wash near my kitchen skin and whenever cut onions or some other vegetables or non veg etc I wash my hands.

Moreover, the product is free from SLS, SLES and parabens so we need not worry about these nasty chemicals. I would highly recommend the Aster Charismatic Oudh Liquid Hand Wash for it's efficiency in cleansing the hands while not drying them.

Aloe Veda Liquorice and Ginger Gentle Cleansing Milk Review

I love using cleansing milks for the squeaky clean feeling they give to my skin. I have used Himalaya Herbals Cleansing Milk, Iraya Lotus Seed Cleansing Milk. Recently I had picked up VLCC Sandalwood Cleansing Milk. I love all variants available especially the fragrant ones (although some fragrances itch my nose area πŸ˜›). Today's review is about a less talked brand called Aloe Veda and the product is Liquorice and Ginger Gentle Cleansing Milk.

Brand claims - Formulated with Lemon, Ginger & Liquorice Extracts, Aloe Veda's Gentle Cleansing Milk penetrates the skin, freeing pores of dirt and pollutants. It completely removes make-up and impurities whilst gently hydrating the skin leaving your skin feeling clean and fresh. The astringent property of lemon lifts impurities from the skin while the light formula leaves no greasy feel and helps retain its natural moisture level.

Ingredients - Purified Water, Sesame Oil, Cetostearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Mono Stearate, Glycerine, Decyl Glucoside, Emulsifying Wax, Cocamide Diethanolamine, Jojoba Oil, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Potassium Sorbate, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Benzoate, Ethylene Glycol Monostearate, Allantoin, Licorice Extract, Triethanolamine, Disodium EDTA, Vitamin E

My experience
The product has a pump up packaging which is secured by a plastic cap and the whole bottle can be carried easily. The pump up mechanism isn't like normal hand wash sort pump up. This makes the product a winner incase of pump up packaging as well as travel friendly. The plastic cap also fits very tightly.

Coming to the cleansing milk consistency, fragrance and texture. The cleansing milk has a mild ginger fragrance which is non bothering as well as non lingering. The consistency of the cleansing milk is so runny, that if you take the milk on your hand and try closing the cap with another hand you are sure to spill some πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

The cleansing milk spreads easily on the skin but sits on the skin and takes time to sink into the skin. Being said that, it makes gliding of moist cotton balls very easy and quick. The cleansing milk is not at all greasy or oily or creamy sort. It doesn't even feel waxy.

The cleansing milk removes dirt, sweat and excessive oil from the skin easily. It also removes light makeup like BB cream, concealer and lipstick. Since I am not much into makeup cannot say whether it removes heavy makeup, waterproof eyeliner, Kohl and sorts. Post usage the skin is left soft, smooth and clean, however applying moisturiser is what I would recommend since we tend to remove natural oils from the skin while cleansing. Overall the product is winner as a daily CTM routine part and for removing light makeup.

The In

  • Cleanses the skin gently while removing impurities and dirt
  • Removes light makeup ( I haven't tried on heavy makeup since I usually don't wear one)
  • Makes the skin soft, smooth and clean post usage
  • Easy availability across online shopping portals
  • Doesn't contain mineral oil, parabens
  • Contains Liquorice, Lemon oil, Aloe Vera and Ginger extracts
  • Travel friendly packaging
  • Affordable price

The Out

  • I didn't find any

Price, Shelf life and Availability - 210 INR for 100ml with a shelf life of 2 years. Available on major shopping portals as well as Aloe Veda website.

I would recommend the Aloe Veda Liquorice and Ginger Gentle Cleansing Milk as a suitable product for daily CTM routine or for removing light makeup. The paraben free formulation makes it a winner. The price at which it is offered makes it the affordable one among the other brands offering paraben free cleansing milks. Do give it a try!

All You Need To Know About Botox

Hey everyone,

Well, we all have heard the word “Botox” and we are all confused about it? Is it basic cosmetic surgery or an implant? Everyone seems to look for the answer. So here, I have listed down a few facts about this mystery term, which has confused us all.

My FAQ Sheet
What is Botox?
Botox is a neurotoxin drug which is produced by bacterium Clostridium botulinum or botulinum toxin. It is popularly used for cosmetic surgeries to remove wrinkles, using technology that temporarily paralyzes the aging muscles. In this process, the toxins are injected into the targeted area to bind with the receptors of your muscles. People get it done to elevate their lips and cheekbones and achieve a better face structure.
This is rapidly becoming a popular concept where people are opening up to this new technology to look better and feel better about their faces. Obviously who doesn’t want to look good????

Where can you Use Botox?
Botox is most commonly used under the eye and on the horizontal lines of your head. Many times girls also get it done on their downturned lip and jaw line, to refine the structure of their face. Some people also use it in their armpitsto prevent the sweat glands from creating any odor or sweat.

Who Should Get It?
Most people get it to eliminate aging and wrinkle signs from their skin.People also get it done to gain a more structured jaw line and to work on improving their features. People in their early 30’s are more likely to opt for Botox, however, it is also getting extremely popular amongst youngsters, who shouldn’t be considering this as a necessary requirement to look beautiful. One should feel loved for just the way they are. Cosmetic surgery's popularity is increasing insecurity in young girls and putting pressure to look a certain way and it’s is so wrong that people are more concerned about how others look compared to their own beauty.

How Long Does Botox Last?
Immediately after the injection, the toxins start working under your skin. A Botox treatment can take about five to ten days to show its results and on an average most Botox injections can last about four months, depending on the amount of time your body takes to generate new receptors.

Should I avoid something after the Botox?
No. If your practitioner has treated you correctly then there is basically no restriction on what you can and can’t do. Botox injectors are diffused into your skin, and work internally, so there is basically nothing I would ask you to avoid during this time. You can go about your daily routine without worrying about the treatment and it will star showing results son enough.
Pain, Bruising, and Swelling

Like any other injectors, you might feel a little pain and swelling after undergoing this treatment. However if this pain increases or bruising starts to appear, then consult your doctor as soon as possible as Botox is essentially toxins, which can potentially damage your face.  Prepare yourself for a little sting and swelling for a few days as it is the price that you will be required to pay for the treatment.

How to Pick a Provider?
Pretty much every health care based player around the country is providing Botox services, which makes it extremely hard for customers to choose from. I recommend you to go for a reliable and trustworthy provider like VLCC. Since there are lots of myths circulating in the market regarding the Botox; an expert would be the right choice. Well, I am not so much into the Botox stuff but yeah, once I read about a demo session by the VLCC Indore team and the types of Botox treatments like MESO Lipo, MESO Scalp Therapy, Thread Face Lift and Fillers, it piqued my interest. The VLCC experts say that one can reduce 10 years of aging from the face with Botox. The team is well equipped with the advanced technologies, qualified experts, and hygiene factors and most importantly, their priority is their customer’s comfort and convenience. The best thing about them is they clarify any doubts of the visitor at the time of consulting and show the portfolio of their work which is very rare. During my visits to the center I have seen their work and met with satisfied customers.
Even you can request for some live demonstrations from the VLCC experts at the time of consulting for more clarification. Many of the celebrities like Priyanka Chopra and Shilpa Shetty have gone through the Botox treatment. So it’s more of myth that it won’t work and the visible results will be no less than a celebrity’s. LoL!
On the contrary, it is also true that a wrong provider can easily get you to a hell-like experience. We have ample number of Botox went wrong celebrities sustaining in the glam world.

You know what I feel, somewhere we are all skeptical about Botox but when a celebrity gets it done with successful results, we shower them love, likes, and tweets for their looks and praise them to the moon.
Watch here what VLCC experts say about Botox:

It is a better alternative compared to plastic surgery, which can make permanent changes to your skin, and you will have to live with till eternity.

How to Prevent Hair loss, balding due to Anxiety and Stress

One of the lesser known reasons for hair loss and balding is the stress people take in their daily lives. Whether it is physical stress due to over load of physical work or the psychological stress due to emotional, financial, societal issues at work, home or elsewhere, the stress consumed by people is at the maniacal levels. This stress level also causes hormonal imbalance, which leads to gradual decrease in the hair growth and slowly leads to baldness.

Types of hair loss due to stress
Anxiety is a prolonged form of stress and one is always related to the other no matter the technical difference between the two. And both combine to hunt the hair and cause disastrous results. There are generally three types for hair losses which can be attributed to stress:
·         Telogen Effluvium: When you are suffering from severe stress, your hair follicles become unfunctional which impacts the hair growth. Gradually in the next few months, you start experiencing hair loss of higher proportions during a simple wash or combing.
·         Trichotilomania: It is a form of disorder which compels you to pull your hair from all parts of body. It is not known why it happens but the speculation is that pulling a hair as an action helps the person in dealing with high levels of stress which could have been triggered due to emotional or psychological issues
·         Alopecia Areata: In a strange follow through of events, in this condition the stress causes such an impact on the immune system that it starts attacking the healthy follicles and causes hair loss. This is also called auto-immune effect
What are signs of hair loss?
Hair loss comes with signs which should be paid attention to and that too on time so that it can be taken care of.
·         Hair starts thinning
·         You see hair on your pillow each time you rest you head on it
·         Front hair line starts receding in men
·         More than usual skin is visible while pulling or partition of hair
·         Women’s hair brushes catch a lot more hair than normal
·         Women have to tie an additional loop while tying their hair. This is also associated with the thinning of hair in women

Reasons for hair loss due to stress
Stress activates a lot of changes in the body functions which then interfere with the hormones.
·         Hormonal changes in the body caused due to stress affects the hair growth and since stress hormones are powerful, they can easily result in hair loss
·         Stress affects your sleeping pattern and may cause lack of sleep which again tampers your usual performance at work or in life eventually leading to hair loss
·         Anxiety related stress kills your hunger or makes you feel like avoiding food. Lack of proper and timely diet reduces the supply of nutrition to body which in turn weakens your hair
·         Some people under duress tend to pull their hair as a means to fight stress (just like nail chewing) and that also causes hair loss if done regularly
·         Stressed body produces toxins which also affect the hair follicles and weaken them. Weak follicles do not generate hair at a healthy speed and cause hair loss

Steps to control stress related hair loss
·         Get a proper sleep for atleast 7-8 hours and allow your body to rest well to counter the stress related hair fall.
·         Eat healthy and drink a lot of water. It gives your body more energy to fight with stress and strengthens your hair enough to not let them fall
·         Exercise regularly, do Yoga, start running as these things release the stress injected toxins from the body and reduce the stress by a great extent
·         Stress is also caused due to a major physical change in the body such as accidents, a major illness or even child birth. Your body deserves time to embrace the change and allow yourself to recover without fretting over it. The incidents cannot be reversed but stress related hair loss can be.
·         You might want to check if the medicines you are taking during stressed days are adding to the hair loss. Consult your doctor and have them changed
·         Give yourself a good dose of Vitamin B and cut down on Vitamin A as it can cause hair loss

Do all of the above religiously and you can easily reverse the hair loss caused due to stress.

My experience
I always wanted to try TNC Fuller's Earth Face pack and Gulnare Aloe Vit E Face cream. But due to their high price points I never tried them. With this edition of VanityCask, finally I have got to try both the products. As for VLCC Cleansing Milk, I already have purchased one and this box has kind of restocked it for me 😊. I have also reviewed the Votre Multi Vitamin and Rejuvenating Night Crème and feel that it is one of the luxurious skincare available today in the market. All the products in the VanityCask June Box of Flawless Skin Edition are worth the money. The products chosen are take care of all your skin needs, Cleansing, Rejuvenating, Day time and Night time care.

I would say this month box is a value for money since we receive products worth double the amount of box

  • VLCC Cleansing Milk ( full size) - 160 INR
  • Comfort Zone Absolute Pearl System Set - price not mentioned
  • Votre Multi Vitamin & Rejuvenating Night CrΓ¨me - 1470 INR approx

If you see the above prices you can check that The Votre Night Crème has already covered the price of the box. Apart from that the Gulnare Aloe & Vit E Face cream is also the same case. Both these products are about half the quantity of full size and have already got you covered to give that flawless skin. So I would say Flawless Edition of VanityCask Box 2017 is, absolutely a value for money, box and goes on to give you that glow. Grab the box before it's gone.
